Happy Birthday #funfriday / celebrating 2 years of our family tradition

the daily Starr fun friday

Man, y’all – time flies when you’re having #funfriday!

2 years ago this week, Kayla and I randomly decided to pick up doughnuts at the gas station on our way to pick up Kylie.

And just like that, #funfriday was born. I didn’t even have this blog yet, wow. Craziness.

Unbelievably, we’ve continued it every single Friday since.

Some Fridays are ridiculously simple. Remember the time we went to our neighborhood park in our PJs?

And the time we walked in the Dollar Tree and gave them 10 minutes and $5!

Then there was the night we ate hot dogs, played with marshmallows and dressed up while dancing in the living room.

Oh yes, we sure do know how to have fun in this family!!

Some Fridays have been a little more complicated and didn’t turn out as planned…

There was the DIY decorative jars idea I found on Pinterest that all my friends made fun of.

And the homemade Girl Scout cookie kit that was p-i-t-i-f-u-l.

Regardless if #funfriday was big or small, we’ve loved every single minute of being an intentional and spontaneous family. We’re intentional in that time is set apart every Friday to be together and have fun. We’re spontaneous in doing so many things we never would have tried if it weren’t for #funfriday.

Most Fridays I have no idea what the plan will be, but it always comes together.

Tonight, we celebrated the same simple way we started this tradition – Krispy Kreme!

Brock was more interested in playing. Don’t worry – he’ll get a doughnut!

We even sang y’all a song!

Happy Birthday, #funfriday!
