#thirstythursday / are you waiting for your story to unfold? me too

thirsty thursday banner the daily Starr

I’m on a journey.

Most days I’m not so sure what or where the destination will be, but I keep showing up – putting one foot in front of the other.

My journey looks a little like this:

To love.
To mom.
To wife.
To write.
To encourage.
To love Jesus and others.
To worship.
To lead.
To serve.

Some days are long and it feels like I’ll never really “get there” – wherever “there” may be.

Who decides where “there” is anyways?

Waiting is something God has been teaching me to do since my college days. I’ve often clung to this verse:

This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
It will not be delayed.

Habakkuk 2:3 NLT

Wait, Starr. Just wait. And trust.

That’s stinkin’ hard.

I read this article a few weeks ago from (in)courage titled, “While Waiting for Your Story to Unfold”

I can’t stop thinking about those words.

Waiting for your story to unfold…

God is forming my story RIGHT NOW.

My job is to live in the moments He’s given and be faithful to listen and take action when He prompts. My job is to live love out loud, no matter what I’m doing.

Last Sunday, my dad referenced this scripture during his sermon and it spoke directly to my heart:

Humble yourself, Starr – therefore under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you…

This is not a season for me to worry or fret or be anxious for what is ahead.

This is a season of waiting for my story to unfold.

Every day that I live is another page in my story – written by the very hand of God.

Be encouraged, dear friends. Your story is unfolding too.

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. {2 Thessalonians 1:11}
