Family Camp 2016 is coming to an end!
We’ve had 4 fun days focused on our theme: Do Life BIG ~
and today we set out to give big!
That’s our friend, Sajel! She’s headed to Africa on a missions trip this week. We took her some first aid supplies to pack in her bags and leave with the people in the community she’s serving. We’re so proud of Sajel. She’s a young soul with a big heart for missions. We want to help her serve!
Next we dropped by Nana Phillips’ house.
She’s an elderly lady in our church that isn’t able to get out much. We stopped by to brighten her day with flowers, a card and a hug. We didn’t get to give her the hug – she had gone to visit her son in the hospital. We did get to talk to her later this afternoon and gave her big hugs over the phone!
Lastly, we focused on giving big by going through our things at home to donate. Our goal is to have 150 items packed up by the end of the night to give to people who need them more than we do. My goal is to help our kids be giving minded people. I want them to live life with their arms and hands wide open. God has blessed us, indeed. That means we’re expected all the more to help others.
Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more. – Luke 12:48
We also had a bit of family fun today to wrap up our Family Camp 2016.
Brock enjoyed eating more than anything.
We watched the sun set tonight over the neighborhood pool and enjoyed our freedom and independence we’ve been blessed with in the USA.
That’s a wrap! Family Camp 2016 is in the books and I can’t wait to plan our new tradition for next year.
Happy 4th, friends.
Encouragement for the day
