#shareitsaturday / stick out your tongue and play ball

If you’re ever tempted to believe life is perfect and pretty for everyone else…

Let me just stop you right HERE!

I’ve got a 4 year old upstairs screaming her lungs out. She’s lost television, all her stuffed animals and is on the verge of yet another consequence for her behavior.

It’s been a hard day. It’s been a hard week. We don’t have our act together and life is just plain hard sometimes, y’all.

As I sat here over the past 20 minutes trying to figure out what to share with you on the blog today, this kept happening in between the 4 year old screams.

He is certainly determined.

Every time he’d fall – he’d come right back to the side of my chair. Throwing the green ball at me.

And sticking his tongue out.

Sometimes in the midst of the mess and screams, you’ve just got to stick your tongue out and play ball.

That’s exactly what I’m about to do. And pray daddy gets home from work really soon so I have backup. Cause I need backup.

Don’t get defeated. Enjoy the small moments. Embrace the messy days. Know that the sun will rise again tomorrow. And they won’t be this little forever.

The screams will fade off eventually as they get past the terrible twos. Oh wait. It lasted through the trying threes and now into the fanatical fours!!!! HAhahahaha.

Tonight, all I have to share with you is my encouragement. The days are long, but the years are short. Know you aren’t alone in your struggle tonight.

  1. Praying for you and Kylie…but can I tell you how great it is to see Brock sticking out that tongue!!! I knew he was learning something from his Meg Meg!! You have to show your dad, he will be thrilled!!!

  2. Go right ahead and stick out your tongue and toss that green ball, next take a huge breath and know this my dear friend, God still adores you like crazy, you are still his precious daughter, and I am praying he will wrap you in his arms and tell you YOU ARE HIS.
