Introducing conversations around the dinner table

When I started this daily blog over a year and a half ago, I came up with a theme for each day of the week. The themes gave me purpose and a plan for my writing. It also created accountability for me to tackle things in my life where I didn’t know where to start – DIY projects at home, clutter, family fun, etc.

One day of the week has probably been the biggest struggle for me – #1wordwednesday

At first, my thought was to pick a word for the week and then ask others to pick a word as well. Sometimes people would do that and share their words with me – I loved that! Other times it was me over here in lonely writer world wondering if this day made any sense at all??>?

After months of brainstorming, I’m ready to try something new!

The theme stays the same – we’ll still pick 1 word.

The action is different!

Introducing “Conversations around the dinner table!”

the daily Starr 1 word wednesday conversations around the dinner table

Today’s word: HONESTY

Questions to spark conversation around the dinner table with friends and family:

  • Who is the most honest person you know and why?
  • What does it mean to you to be honest?
  • When do you have the hardest time in life being honest?
  • Has there been a time you wish someone had been honest with you? What did you learn from that situation?

Now, GO!

Have some meaningful conversation with your people around the table tonight.

Already had dinner? Eat dessert. Or pause the TV for 5 minutes and talk. 🙂

  1. Well, I’m here by myself so I will just have a conversation with me. I will reflect on times when I should have been more honest in how I feel. For the most part, I keep those thoughts to myself, it seems to work out better.

    1. Mom, I could have brought you 3 tiny people to keep you company tonight!! They would have given you fantastic conversation 🙂 I love the perspective of being honest in how we feel. And I don’t think you always have to keep that to yourself. You’re getting much better at sharing that in your old age 🙂
