Lord, tonight I come before You on behalf of the one who loved me before he knew if it would be pink or blue.
You knew before the world began who I would belong to. My earthly father and mother were handpicked by You, just for me.
I’m thankful that in the hardest days, my dad has taught me to never ever give up. He’s not only taught it, he’s lived it in front of me for 35 years.
It is this man who still today stands in front of a congregation preaching truth, holiness, and faithfulness – even when it is not the most popular view or when the truth hurts.
The older I get, the more I realize the blessing of doing ministry alongside my dad. He’s taught me so much about compassion and serving.
He’s given me wisdom to know when to let go and when to move on from certain situations.
God, tonight I ask you for physical healing. Heal the sickness and pain in my dad’s body. Let him feel Your healing power from the very top of his head to the soles of his feet. His body is tired and worn down. We rebuke this attack from the enemy who is trying to keep him down.
I also ask for vision and protection for my dad as the shepherd over our congregation. Speak to him, lead him, guide and direct decisions and actions he takes as our Pastor.
Lastly, Lord I ask You to send others alongside to serve. Moses had Aaron to hold his arms up when he got tired. God, surround my dad with an army of faithful and holy warriors that are on fire for You! Put the right people in place to carry out the vision for our church.
Thank you for giving me another year with my dad. Seeing him with the first grandson in our family has been beautiful – something Willie would have been soooo very proud of!
Dad – I love you, even when I forget to give you birthday presents 🙂
Happy Father’s Day – love the Kelly/Haiglers
PS – dad, these will always be my favorite photos with you!
In case you missed it – from the past week on the blog:
