Here we are on this #slowitdownSunday.
If we sat down together for 5 minutes on a park bench I’d say these words to you tonight, friend:
Shush the shoulds.
“I should do this.”
“I should have done that.”
“I should get up and clean.”
“I should be a better friend.”
“I should be a calmer mom.”
I should blah blah blah blah blah….!
We all need to agree to SHUSH the shoulds in our heads that play over and over.
Our family happens to love the movie Home.
There is a character named Captain Smek and he has a SHUSHER!
He basically waves his wand around telling all the other aliens (known as Boov) to SHUSH – knocking them over the head.
He is Captain and he holds the mighty SHUSHER. Ha!
I need a shusher of my own. Amen?
His Word tells us over and over to embrace rest and put our hope in Him.
Maybe I’ll create a shusher to use in our family – on myself first – reminding me that it is OK to sit for a bit and rest.
The shoulds can take a rest.
Tonight – we had pot roast, broccoli, and corn with beans.
I’m super cook.
All frozen meals, yup!!
My favorites from tonight would be the Beef and Broccoli and the Protein Blends Southwest Style corn.
I wouldn’t buy the pot roast again, mom’s is WAYY better. 🙂
Encouragement for the Day:
