Tonight, friends – you’re in for a true #makeovermonday treat!!
Brian has a bit of a habit – this knack for buying houses and fixing them up.
Just think of us like Chip ‘n Jo on HGTV – we just need a barn and some cameras following us around all day 🙂 minor details…
For the first time ever, I’m giving a real life view of a flip we’ve done in the last few months here locally.
You may think, “Oh, that house doesn’t look so bad!”
I didn’t think so either!!
Then, I walked inside….
Oh, goodness – there are no floors.
But in case you need any holy curtains, HERE YA GO!
I’m still not sure why we had no floors. And curtains.
This house was pretty much a full #demoday experience.
And here we have the kitchen.
And a small storage room/mud room. Yup, I’d say it’s muddy.
And here you have a nice bathroom. Complete with green tile.
And bonus: you can crawl under to the storage room!! Secret path!!
There’s a lovely view out the backdoor.
Anyone ready to buy this beauty??
But wait, there’s more – a fireplace and hardwoods!!
I wasn’t so sure about this one, y’all.
What had we gotten ourselves into???
Brian actually took me to the house and asked for input – things like moving walls and kitchen layout (which I changed completely after my incredible father in-law started working…oooops!!).
This was gonna be fun, at least for me, ha!
We finally got floors.
The fireplace had to go, sadly. Can you even tell it was there??
Unfortunately the hardwoods had to be covered because they were such a mess. We opened a few walls to give a better layout.
The kitchen cabinets got installed, yay!! Even though I did get a little cranky because they didn’t take the bottom cabinets all the way over to the wall like I intended…geeezzz…
The bath started coming together nicely.
Are you ready??
I present to you 406 Riggins Street – our very own fixer upper!
Isn’t she pretty??
If you had told me 13 years ago we’d be taking homes with no floors and making them look like this….well, I would have laughed!!
Most of the credit on this home goes to my father in-law, who poured his time and talent into the construction pieces.
This is part of what we do – take homes that people think can’t be loved – and turn them into something beautiful.
And beautiful this one is – she went under contract within the first 24 hours of being on the market 🙂
Happy Monday, friends ~
