#1wordwednesday / UNFOLLOW

Today starts a new month for #lessin2016!

less in 2016 the daily starr

This month we talk about less following people on social media that get on our nerves.

My simple 1 word of advice to you:

It’s easy, friends.

Those people. You know who they are.

The ones that always complain.
The ones that give negative output continuously.
The ones that do nothing but bring others down.
The ones that speak incognito about situations or other people via status updates.
The ones that are really nice people, but every time you see something they say you get mad.
The ones that are always trying to be better than everyone else.
The ones that share something every 2.5 seconds of the day.

The ones that make you jealous, envious, and just plain mad.

Those people.

You don’t know why, you’re just drawn to their drama.

And remember that 1 time you decided to comment on something and share your opinion, and then BAMMMMMMMM!

They pounced on you. Like a wild cheetah.

They are right.
You are wrong.

These are the people.

No need to feed the drama and unfriend them. No. They’ll figure it out and then they’ll be mad and it will be awkward. And honestly, if you’re a positive person that is actually intentional in the way you use social media – then they can benefit from seeing what you post. Maybe you’ll rub off on them in some crazy way 🙂 maybe.

The solution is to hit that button and hit it quickly.

Your social media life will never be the same.

You’ll have less drama. You’ll actually enjoy catching up with friends.

You’ll be a happier person.

And that’s fantastic for everyone in your life!

Next time you get that furious feeling, just do it.

For today’s #1wordwednesday giveaway I’m trying something new.

I’m giving away a free 30 minute coaching session with one blog reader to help you and share the social media insights I’ve learned over the years.

I’ll answer all your questions about social media, share what I post, what I don’t, how I choose to interact and what I don’t do in social media..EVER. I’m very intentional with how I post, especially on Facebook.

Are you interested?

If you want to be more of an encouragement and less of an annoying person online, I want to help!

To enter and win: leave a comment on the bottom of this post. I’ll randomly select a winner tomorrow and announce on the blog.

  1. My word is purpose. I know there is purpose for me, for what I’ve been through but I can’t seem to figure out. So for I just continue to lean on God and surely my purpose will be revealed.

    1. I love that word! Yes, absolutely!! There is purpose for every single thing we’ve been though. And you have a story to tell to inspire others and to point to Jesus in all things! I believe there is so much more that God has in store for you, friend! I’m believing for greater purpose!! Love you!

  2. Unfollow works for all of those groups you belong too as well. You can be deliberate about when you want to see what’s in them.

Honestly I always worry that I am being one of “those” people. I hope my true friends would tell me if I start to be…

    1. Thanks for commenting, Melissa! I think we all struggle with those thoughts of not wanting to be one of “those” people. Being intentional with our words helps 🙂

  3. What a wonderful give away. I love the way you write and share your life. Ha that would be a first for me, sharing my life. Thanks for the possibilities!

    1. That is one of the hardest parts – to share, to know what to share and to wonder does anybody really care?!? That goes through my brain all of the time! So glad you’re here and thank you for commenting!

  4. Begin is my word. I have shared with you how much I would like to Blog and just don’t know how to start. Much less how to have a more serious presence on Social Media. Thanks for all the encouragement you give me. I would love to connect for this opportunity. G

    1. You’re so welcome, friend! Thank you for always following along and for commenting. I’m happy to be on this journey and look forward to helping 🙂
