#slowitdownSunday / when Easter feels dreary

Today is the greatest celebration of our Christian faith ~ Easter.

Jesus Christ has defeated the enemy. He is RISEN! He is ALIVE!

So, why is it so hard for us to overcome a dreary rainy foggy day????

dreary day

As a worship leader, that was super hard this morning. I felt like most people were half asleep!

Here’s the thing: I can’t let the weather or other people’s moods dictate my JOY!

Today I want to shout from the mountaintops, I want to celebrate, I want to cheer on my Savior because HE WON!!!

I want to rejoice in the freedom that only comes from knowing Jesus Christ is my personal Savior.

Do you know Him as your Savior?

Do you believe this?

Do you know the One that is the resurrection and the life?

No matter the storms or sunshine, I want my life to be full of the Joy of the Lord.

Even in the midst of the rain, tonight on this #slowitdownSunday we took a few moments to make our own Resurrection Garden reminder! You could do this even after Easter as a beautiful reminder of what God has done!

{special credit to my amazing Father in law that got the dirt. And the grass. And the rocks. Love you, Ronnie!}

I pray that God becomes more alive in our lives every single day – rain or shine 🙂

Happy Resurrection Celebration Day!

  1. This program was the best ever. I don’t know about anyone else but the spirit of God was so strong. I wanted to shake the rooftop but my voice wasn’t working to well. I’ll never let that excuse happen again.I loved Joy’s solo with your mom. Please know that you did a great job today and hope for someone that this may be the day of their salvation.

    1. Thank you, Kay! It’s so hard to tell what is happening when my back is to the congregation during choir! I too felt the Spirit of the Lord! Thank you so much and we love you!

  2. We also had rain. Lots of it. But it didn’t rain on our celebration! He is ALIVE! And death has been defeated. Thank you Starr for the encouragement to remember this on a daily basis.
