#thirstythursday / get in the game

thirsty thursday banner the daily Starr

One night this week, I picked up a book I’ve had for several months. I love how God puts the right words in front of us exactly when we need them.

It spoke deep into my soul.

Have you ever read this one?

It’s called I Want God: Forever Changed by the Revival of Your Soul – by Lisa Whittle.

Here’s what is left lingering in my mind 2 days later: If you’ve ever felt like you’re not good enough, or ready enough, or prepared, or skilled, or talented, or – INSERT YOUR OWN EXCUSE HERE – for God to use you, well….join the club!

Even Moses argued with God in front of a burning bush.

Moses kept finding excuse after excuse about how he wasn’t the right one.

But God knew.

God had prepared every single detail in the life of Moses leading up to that moment. God even sent someone to help Moses when he felt inadequate for the job.

We’ve all felt that way.

And told God he should find someone else.

Or that we’re just not ready.

Will we ever feel ready??

It’s not for us to decide – that is God’s job!

Now – read this part from Lisa’s book:

It’s time to get in the game.

Right where we are. Not next week. Not next year. Not when we’re older. Not when we’re less busy.

Tonight, I’m thirsty for God. I want God. I want more.

I want to be used, right where I am.

“Jesus looked around and saw them following, “What do you want?” he asked them (John 1:38).

I want God.

How about you?
