3 Dr. visits – all of which were not planned as of 8am this morning.

1 kid with bronchitis

1 kid with strep throat

and a mama with a whole lot of tissues!

These kinds of days are never fun. It kinda seems like you’re hitting a wall every time you turn a corner. And it always seems to happen on days when you have a million and a half things to get done.

Been there? Yup.

I stood and chatted with our pharmacist tonight on the way home from this lovely day. We were both a bit frustrated about a refill I’ve been trying to get for a medicine that isn’t coming through from the doctor’s office. I keep getting messages that it’s being sent, but somehow it is not.

I smiled and told her no worries, I’d send another message to the Dr and hopefully see her again tomorrow to get the medicine.

Then, she said something that made me think.

It went a little like this:

“We’re at the bottom of the medical food chain and most people come here super frustrated and yelling at us when we don’t have their medicines. But, you’re smiling and laughing! I’m so glad!”

I hadn’t even thought about their world. I can’t imagine dealing with a bunch of sick people everyday who are probably not happy about how much money they have to spend on medicines!

The fact is, it’s not their fault. It’s not even our doctor’s fault. I know they’ve been trying to take care of this for us. Yes, it is super inconvenient.

But here’s the thing – every single day I’m faced with challenges just like this – things that simply don’t go my way.

I have 2 choices: make the best of it or pitch a fit.

And my daughters like to remind me all the time, “You get what you get and don’t pitch a fit!”

Hahah! That’s some good advice there!

Another way to say the same thing: choose joy or choose grumpy.

Joy looks WAYYY more fun!!

Joy. That’s a medicine I would like to take everyday!!

Am I the best at choosing joy every day? Nope. I have a long way to go.

But, I will admit that today’s conversation with the pharmacist will make me think twice before I choose grumpy again.

Oh, and I like this JOY too!!

I just wish she’d come wash bottles for me more often!!! bhahahah (that’s my little sister for those that don’t know her!)

I’m going to go grab my roll of toilet paper now that’s beside my bed since I used up all the tissues šŸ™‚
