#makeovermonday / a gallery wall in the master bathroom

Today has been one of those days for me.

One of those where I think it may have been better for everyone in my path if I had just gone back to bed this morning, ha!

You know those days, right? Where you pretty much quit your job 10 times, no..wait…I fired myself from my job about 10 times. Then, the kids are in trouble and screaming and in bed early. And you find yourself crying for no reason at all.

I needed some happy in my life tonight. I didn’t need to do more laundry. I didn’t need to clean the house. I needed to get myself out of this rough day.

I went into the spare guest room – the room in our house that has been holding all of our home decor and accessories since July of last year (I know, weird). And I pulled out some of my favorite things. The time has come. Our house has been breathing for 6 months. Time to bring some Starr back in.

For today’s #makeovermonday I went to the room used most often by our family, the master bathroom.

Since we took all of the decor down last summer, the thing I have missed most is having a clock on the wall. I constantly have to go to the bedroom to check the time and see just how late I’m going to be…hahahahah!!! #truth

Here is the bathroom when I started at 9pm tonight – dirty towels, kid toys and all:

I cleared out the clutter, cleaned up the tub and gathered my favorite things for the wall.

I started with fluffy white towels. Like our favorite hotel uses. Folded and pretty – just for me to use.

Then, I started adding things.

My grandmother’s mirror was first. Mostly because it was the heaviest piece and there was a big nail in the wall already. Ha! It worked! Side note: It needs to be cleaned. I didn’t have time for that tonight.

Then, I added a piece I bought over a year ago on clearance at Kirkland’s. It has never even been put up before!!

Next, I added a bath sign that came when we bought a house full of staged furniture. I thought it was hideous. Now I love it!

Next, came the clock. I bought it at Goodwill last summer for $5. AND I painted one coat of white – because I was too lazy to go back and paint more. I just noticed tonight the clock part itself isn’t straight. Who cares??? I’ll just turn my head a little.

I went to gather a few more favorite pieces and here’s how it turned out:

If you need me, I’ll be soaking in the bathtub looking at my new gallery wall – being all happy and stuff πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much for the encouragement! Makeovers are probably one of the favorite things I do on my blog. I would love to figure out how to make them into a book!! Thanks!!!

      1. You’re too kind. Now God has totally been stirring ideas in my mind since you wrote this comment πŸ™‚

  1. I’m sorry you had a rough day but glad it ended in beauty. One of my goals for sometime soon is a gallery wall in my dining room. I have all the stuff, I just need to get it up! You’ve inspired me (again)!
