#trashouttuesday / 10 minutes, 100 things GONE

Last night we finally tackled the laundry room:

I honestly struggle with laundry. And clothes. And clutter – as if you couldn’t tell, ha!

It’s hard for me to purge. I still have clothes from college. Goodness gracious. Those days have SOO passed.

And my closet has once again become packed beyond capacity.

Simplifying makes life easier (easier said than done for sure).

Tonight for #trashouttuesday, I decided to set the timer for 10 minutes and 10 minutes only.

My goal: to gather 100 things out of my closet in those 10 minutes.

Y’all. This was STINKIN’ hard!!!

I felt like I was on a game of Supermarket Sweep – closet edition!!

The girls and Brian were counting the items as I threw them out of the closet.

First round = 10 minutes = I only made it to 73 items 🙁

I was determined to do this challenge.

So, I started the timer again.
And I started the item count completely over.
The more tries it took me to get to 100 in 10 minutes, the more stuff I got out!!

Second round = 10 minutes = 112 items!!!

Woohooo!!

I’m happily celebrating the fact that I’ve cleared out 185 items from my closet in just 20 minutes tonight!!

What can you do in 10 minutes? Create a challenge and then go for it! If you don’t meet your goal, try again. Keep going – you’ll be so happy with your results.

Now, as far as all of these items.

I cleared out a TON of maternity clothes. And normal clothes. Do you know someone in need of maternity clothes that lives nearby Charlotte, NC? Let me know. I’ll hand deliver them 🙂

As for the rest of the clothes, I’m going to finally sponsor a clothing swap with the women at our church. We’ve talked about this for a long time. I’ll keep you posted on those details and how it works to benefit charity!

Oh and this is what it was like trying to take Brock’s photo tonight – he’s 3 months old today!
