Another #funfriday is here!
Last week, Brian helped gather wood for this GIGANTIC bonfire:
We’re heading out to our church property tonight for some good old fashioned campfire fun! (Note: if you’re local to the Charlotte/Monroe area, you’re invited to come and hang out with us! We’ll be near the intersection of Mill Grove Road and Hwy 218. Look for the big fire! Bring your chair and blanket – we’d love to have you! Comment below if you want more details.)
I have such great memories of going to bonfires with my own youth group growing up. It wasn’t anything super special – just a big field, a big fire, lots of friends and fun!
I’m going to pack a little surprise for the girls and take s’mores to munch on. I’m not exactly sure how close we’ll be able to get to the fire for roasting marshmallows, but regardless – they’ll enjoy snacking on the ingredients.
Here’s an idea that we used for our Indoor Family Camp-out a few weeks ago that you could easily incorporate any night at home for fun.
Indoor Mini S’mores Bar with Tealight Candles
What you need:
- Tealight Candles
- Small fondue skewers or toothpicks
- Small bowls
- Mini marshmallows
- Graham Crackers
- Milk Chocolate or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
What to do:
- Take 2-3 graham crackers and smash them in a ziploc bag, pour into small bowl/dish
- Melt the milk chocolate or semi sweet chocolate morsels in the microwave – careful, don’t burn!
- Place the bowls of chocolate and graham crackers on a dish with the mini marshmallows and the skewers.
- Light the tea candle – it helps to have 1 per person
Our girls had so much fun with their little s’mores bar by the fireplace!
