Me too!!

Life is stinkin’ tough sometimes. It’s easy to forget or totally misplace our joy, right?

Yes, you are not alone, friend.

But, hold on – there is a purpose in the darkness.

I just love that last part:

In the midst of the darkness, you will learn lessons you might never have learned in the day.

Isn’t that just TRUTH?? Preach.

I love how this study guide on Contagious Joy takes us deeper into scripture to prove that joy will be ours again!

Job 8:21 21
He will yet fill your mouth with laughing,
And your lips with rejoicing.

Psalm 126:2
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”

YES! He will do it again.

Just when we think we’re overcome with darkness, He will fill our mouths with laughter, our lips rejoicing, our tongue with singing!!

This is for YOU, friend. And for me too 🙂

When sickness is overwhelming.
When your house is turned upside down.
When the reality of responsibilities weighs on your heart and mind.
When the finances don’t add up.
When your job seems more frustrating by the day.
When children act like the total opposite of how they’ve been raised.
When you feel like giving in.

Hang on. Joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Let’s all believe for a contagious joy, shall we?

For today’s giveaway I have 1 copy of the “Contagious Joy” study guide! It includes 12 quick lessons on Joy from Women of Faith. This is a great tool to use for your own personal study, or to lead a small group of friends together in learning the Bible.

To enter today’s giveaway – simply comment below and tell us one area of your life where you are believing for contagious joy.  Mine is in my home. It’s a disaster at this moment. No really. Like the worst it’s been in ages. The past few weeks of sickness partnered with sleep deprivation have left me drained. I feel the weight of the mess the minute I walk in our front door. I’m believing God for energy to get organized and for replacing that heavy overwhelming guilt and weight of being a bad housekeeper/wife/mom with contagious joy.

How about you?

Rules:
All entries should be made by 11:59pm – on the day of this post – Thursday, Oct. 15.
The winner will be selected and announced in tomorrow’s post (and also contacted via email).

There’s no limit to how many items you can win this month – if you like the giveaway, enter via the comments! Simple and easy 🙂

  1. Mine would be for my procrastination! I have been so off the last couple weeks and I am praying to get back on track!

  2. While I would agree that we all could do better with getting our house cleaned up I will not agree with the last 2 items you said. You are NOT a bad wife or mother. You are anything but a bad wife or mother. The love, respect and devotion that you have for me and our marriage is the strength I need on a daily basis. And the girls and Brock have a mother that is more concerned with spending time with them and doing special things to create awesome memories instead of worrying about things like housework.

So don’t you dare say that you believe you are a bad wife or mother. You are our amazing Starr and don’t forget that! 😉

    1. Brian Haigler. I’m so glad you chose me. Really. And you even knew what you were getting yourself into!!! Thank you for loving me like you do. And thank you for always encouraging me through every mess I make. I love you and I thank God for you!

  3. Thank you. I write this as tears of joy flow this morning. I have been so wrapped up in my life, my new married life, trying to be the best wife, keeping the house in order, cooking, etc that I have forgotten the true Joy in my life. May I never get so happy or busy in life that I forget my True Joy again.

  4. I need joy all around my life. My job is very stressful, I help care for my mother. My house is upside down and if I didn’t have enough to do I believed this was a great time in life to go back to school for a balchors degree. Yes I need joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

    1. Karen, praying for strength in every area of your life. And asking God to pour in joy unspeakable in every situation. I believe He is faithful!! Love you!

  5. You are right on time AGAIN! I know I was supposed to read this and reflect. At the risk of sounding like a broken record I would say My JOB is where I need Joy infused in a big way. prayers?

    1. YES!! Prayers for joy in your job!! This is a resounding theme today for so many. Thank you for sharing and commenting and letting us know how to pray!

  6. I agree with Brian, you are not a bad housekeeper, mother or wife! You’re an amazing daughter and we all love you for the choices you make to enjoy life and to make memories for your children. You encourage me!
