31 Days of Giveaways : #funfriday Indoor Family Camp-Out

As you can tell, I’m trying something new by sending the daily blog early in the morning – definitely a change for me! (I’m a night owl if you haven’t figured that out yet haha).

#funfriday will likely be the most challenging day of the week to write early because of the fact that I typically share with you exactly what our family did.

Since you’re getting this post at around 7am, I can assure you that we have NOT had any fun Friday adventures as of yet – come on – we barely get Kayla out the door by 7am for school, people!

My plan is to share with you this morning what we are planning for the day (shhhhh, don’t tell my kids if you see them during the day please – we always surprise them!!) and then share our photos and updates on Friday evenings via my Facebook page. I’d love to see you there sometime 🙂

If you’ve listened to the weather recently, you probably know NC is currently scheduled to get pounded with rain from Hurricane Joaquin. We’re expecting a monsoon of a weekend here.

It would be so easy to do a typical “movie night” here at home tonight – but we did that right before Brock was born. I want to kick it up a notch, but still stay home in our warm DRY living room. Amen??

Tonight, our girls will come home to our first annual Indoor Haigler Family Camp-Out!

Wouldn’t this be a fun tradition to continue as a way to usher in fall each year? YES!

I found all kinds of interesting ideas via Pinterest:

Specific plans for our indoor family camp-out:

  • Tents in the living room
  • Fireplace functional and working
  • Indoor S’mores (from the Pinterest board)
  • Sleeping bags
  • Christmas lights strung on the tents, fireplace and curtain rods
  • Pre-selected movie with camping theme/reference (Parent Trap comes to mind)
  • Movie Popcorn/Candy
  • Grilled hotdogs in the oven for dinner

Would you like to plan your own Indoor Family Camp-out?

For today’s giveaway, I’d like to help you get started! This is one of my favorite “gift baskets” that you can pick up at your local Dollar Tree.

The Dollar Tree carries awesome popcorn buckets in the plastic container section. They also have great movie box candies that are…only $1!

I included a code for a Redbox Movie rental. Anyone can go online to purchase and gift them to friends – what a great idea! They can redeem the code online or at any Redbox location.

Add in a box of popcorn and you’ve got a great starter kit for your own Family Indoor Camp-out!

  1. Do not enter me in the drawing. 🙂 But I can’t wait to see how you decorate for this one.

Here tonight is supposed to be a scheduled power outage. Friday from 7pm until Saturday 7am. Rain may change that. But won’t know until later.

And it looks like Joaquin is staying more in the ocean according to what Christ In Action just posted. Yay!

    1. Stay safe, friend! Glad to hear it might not be as bad as they thought. I will keep you posted on the decor – you know it will be fantastic if it includes Christmas lights hahahha!!!

  2. I love everything about an indoor camp out!!! Outside is so not my thing…I don’t even like to put my windows down in the car! Lol:) I think making s’mores is my favorite part!! Have Fun!!

  3. My favorite part of camping is sitting around the campfire. I love to camp, but have to have a bathroom nearby. LOLOL.

  4. This is my kind of camping…lol….Can’t wait to see the pictures of you and the family on your FB page. You make being a mommy look fun (as it is suppose to be).

  5. Looks like so much fun! I know the girls a beside themselves. We’ve got a house full tonight with both kids and their significant others. Family is the greatest!
