1 Month as a Boy Mom: Lessons Learned

I can’t believe it’s been a month already!

Here are my lessons learned in the first month of being a boy mom:

  1. Boys poop way more than girls. Although, they don’t have diaper blowouts near as often, ha!
    1. a. Boy parts aren’t as scary to clean as I thought they would be!
  2. You can nurse 3 kids and still have no clue what you are doing when it comes to breastfeeding. No joke. I’m clueless still. Power to the pumpers!!!
  3. Contrary to popular belief, a boy can be mellow and much more calm than girls. So far, this is true. Let’s all pray it continues.
  4. Boys eat. And eat. And eat. And eat some more. Where does all this milk go????? Poopie diapers, obviously.
  5. It’s really OK if you show up at daycare 2 days in a row to pick up your daughters and realize that the newborn you’re carrying is actually wearing the same onesie he had on the day before. Ooops.
  6. Sponge baths are totally cool if you don’t have time for the real thing.
  7. A complete and finished nursery is becoming less and less important with the 3rd child. He might just stay in our room until he’s 3. Juuuust kidding.
  8. American Pickers is a great show to watch while passing the hours of feeding and rocking late at night. via Netflix and Hulu 🙂
  9. Getting anywhere on time is pretty much impossible these days. Forgive us in advance if we show up late for your event, party, meeting, etc. We’re working on it, people!
  10. Any vehicle with a little more room and a 3rd seat is looking PRETTY DARN GOOD these days. There. I said it. Minivan maybe???

  1. 2 thoughts:

He isn’t staying in our room til he is 3. 😛

Second, why blame this poor innocent child for our being late. What’s your excuse for the past 30 years before him?!? Wait, maybe I should have left off that last sentence. 😬

    1. First of all I put that comment in there about our room til 3 – JUST FOR YOU BABE! Ha. And yes. You are correct. Who am I kidding?!?!? I’m just late. Always. But you married me, right?!?!? 🙂

  2. Love all the pictures… Keep them coming. There’s nothing like a sons love for his mom. Just wait until you play the kissing game!!!

  3. I told you boys are not so scary and can be so calm. Just look at Nic. You are doing a great job managing 3. It just gets better and better. I love being a mommy of 5. I wouldn’t trade one sleepless night or dirty diaper for anything.
