This month on #trashouttuesday it’s all about storage solutions for your home!
Now, for this week’s topic:
September Storage Solutions: Week 3 – My Favorite $5 Storage Cubes from WALMART!
I was inspired by my friend, Lisa. She’s pretty much the queen of crafting – she even converted her dining room to the ULTIMATE crafting room!! (To be fair she runs her own business out of here, y’all!!)
“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor!!”
But, man oh man – wouldn’t we all LOVE to have a craft room like this????? 🙂
Lisa blew me away when she shared the secret that those ADORABLE storage cube bins came from…WALMART!!
And people. They are only $5 and some change EACH!!!
You can buy them in the store individually, or even online for a set of 2!
They have sooooo many cute patterns and colors!!
I finally went to Walmart a few weeks ago and got me a few of my own bins! I had planned to use them in my bedroom for baby stuff next to the cradle.
BUT. I opened these suckers up and oh my goodness!! They are sooo much bigger than I thought they were! They measure 12.8″W x 12.8″D x 15″H – if that means anything to you! They are not the normal small cubes. These things are HUGE! I was pleasantly surprised!
They didn’t fit my little shelf in the bedroom, so I decided to put them to use in another space where I’m having storage troubles – our bathroom!
Here is where I started this afternoon with the BEFORE:
Nice, right? I’ve been avoiding this shelf because I can’t decide if I want to paint it or not. So, I’ve just let random things collect on the shelf. Note: This shelf has seriously floated around our house. It started in our dining room. Then, it had a home in the living room. And maybe in the foyer too. Now, it’s in the master bath.
First, I brought back our dirty towel hamper that’s been missing for a few months:
Then, I cleared the shelves:
Wow. They collect some DIRT and hairspray and dust!!! Not good.
Here is the AFTER:
Ohhhh yeah!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the storage bins on this shelf. So. Much. Neater.
I have one bin with all my big bathroom stuff – hair dryer, curling irons, etc.
Then, I have one bin with all my daily items that I can pull out and sit right down on the counter when I’m getting ready in the mornings.
The last bin has other random must need in the bathroom items – like extra toilet paper!!
I also rolled a few towels up – because I just LOVE some rolled towels. My favorite hotel in the mountains does this at their spa and it makes me feel special. So, I roll towels.
And then I added a basket to the top and rolled some wash cloths.
I’m pretty excited about my shelf in the bathroom now with my $5 Walmart bins! I might not even paint my shelf now…woah!! Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa!!
Happy Tuesday and happy organizing, friends 🙂
