#funfriday / family project: make baby brother a welcome gift!

Several years ago one of my best friends received this wreath as a gift for her hospital door to welcome her new baby:

Isn’t that just so stinkin’ adorable??

I was totally inspired.

So much that I went and bought the supplies to make a wreath for our baby that we were going to be having soon…that was 4 YEARS AGO THIS SUMMER, PEOPLE!!!

Yeah, I bought the supplies. And, they sat in the closet. #procrastinationPROBLEMS 🙂

Until this afternoon –

Our family project for #funfriday was to make a wreath to welcome little brother to the family in just 10 days!!!

Here are the 3 supplies – simple and easy:

1 – Fabric of your choice.
2- Scissors that will cut fabric
3 – One 18 inch wreath frame from Wal-Mart.

I had about 1 yard of each of the fabric colors. I used all of the multi color and only half of the red and blue.

These colors match our nursery, so it will work to bring home and put on the baby’s door.

My job was to cut the fabric. Brian got the easy job to help the girls….BHAHAHAH!!

My average strip of fabric was 10-12 inches long. Some longer, some shorter. It totally doesn’t have to be perfect at all!

They just started tying – double knots.

And then Kylie got a little bored…and needed a dance break when her favorite song came on the radio:

We didn’t mind one bit – hahah!

Brian had SOOOO much fun on this #funfriday, y’all!! Just look at that face!!

And here’s our final result:

It took us about an hour total from start to finish. I’m thinking of adding some fun yellow polka dot fabric in to mix it up a bit more. And maybe a little more blue – just because that is so foreign to our family.

The girls are going to be so proud to hang this on the hospital door and show everyone their welcome gift for their little brother.

I also bought a little hanging chalkboard that we’ll place in the middle to put his name and birth info on once he gets here (I’ll post a pic when that day arrives).

Here’s hoping that you and yours have a fun filled weekend, friends 🙂
