This morning in church our Pastor issued a challenge for us to un-complicate things.
God doesn’t intend for our lives to be complicated. He doesn’t intend for salvation to be too hard to understand. He doesn’t want us tripping up on things that are really simple.
He wants this:
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Psalm 46:10 NIV
Yes. Be still. And know.
Stop trying to figure it all out.
Stop trying to do God’s job for Him.
Stop trying to make sense of everything.
Stop trying to do it all yourself.
Stop trying to make it harder than it really is.
Start leaning on Me.
Start learning and trusting My Word.
Start stepping out in faith – even when it doesn’t add up.
Start showing others how simple it is to love God and others.
Start living in My unspeakable Joy.
I left church today with a renewed passion to #slowitdownSunday and focus on these 5 basic things that matter most:
1 / Love God and serve Him in every aspect of my life – my home, my family, my work and my friends
2 / Stay close to God by reading His Word daily and talking to Him like my best friend (aka prayer)
3 / Seek God for direction and fulfillment in life. No one else can do this for me.
4 / Cry out loud to Jesus when I don’t know what to do or life seems too hard to handle. There is power in simply speaking the name JESUS!
5 / Tell others about the Joy I’ve found in living the life of a born again believer! And make sure they know it’s for them too!
If I do these 5 things, nothing else matters. Every worry, care, question and problem are resolved and answered by focusing on God, being still and just knowing that HE IS GOD!
I trust that He is working things for my good. That may not always be evident here on earth, but I’m living for eternity!!! He’s the keeper of my soul – forevermore.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”
Psalms 121:1-8 NKJV
How about you? What part of your relationship with God are you overcomplicating? Is He calling you to simply be still and know that He is God?
Let’s un-complicate God together, shall we?
