Several years ago we started a tradition with our kids that has continued around the patriotic holidays.
It started with us putting out flags at our office around July 4th:
Then, we decided to put flags out at home too.
Kylie was just a baby!!
Each year, we pull the flags out and line the street.
For today’s edition of #shareitsaturday, here’s what we did this year! We got fancy and even added shiny pinwheels 🙂
Daddy had to help again (I’m really just a supervisor and photographer, lately, ha!).
The ground was not so soft and he grabbed the drill and put holes in the ground to make this process a whole lot quicker and easier for everyone involved. He is so stinkin’ smart, that man of mine!
The flags and pinwheels are from the Dollar Tree and the patriotic stars are from the dollar section at Target! We hung those from the tree in honor of Glennie the Great – she would have loved those!
Grammy and Joy came over while we were working in the yard.
This is what my sister does to help…
And she brought her friend, Jenna – and it’s her birthday! Happy 15th, Jenna!!
Again, they were SOOO helpful.
If you’re still looking for a creative patriotic dessert to share this Memorial Day weekend, I’ve created a Pinterest Board full of ideas!
Do you have a patriotic tradition in your family? If so, share it with us in the comments below. If not – start one today! We’ll bring our flags back out for July 4th.
Today and all weekend long, we honor those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom!
Happy Memorial Day weekend, friends.
