Over the past several years, I have loved seeing friends post photos of the books they’re reading. It’s been how I’ve discovered some of my favorites!
For this edition of #shareitsaturday, here’s what I’m reading (or planning to read for some of these) right now:
The Book of No: 250 Ways to Say It – and Mean It and Stop People-Pleasing Forever
By: Susan Newman
I picked this book up at the local library. Brian says that I worry too much about what other people think. So, I figured this would be a good one. I haven’t actually started reading it yet. I’ll let you know what I find out…as long as I think you’ll be happy and like it… LOL!
Surprised by Motherhood: Everything I Never Expected About Being a Mom
By: Lisa-Jo Baker
I got this book a few months ago from the library and got about half way through before it was due back! It was there again for check-out, so maybe I’ll finish it this time! I loved how real the author was about not knowing what she was doing as a new mom. I still feel that way!
Nobody’s Cuter Than You: A Memoir About the Beauty of Friendship
By: Melanie Shankle
One of my very best friends sent this book to me in the mail a few weeks ago. She couldn’t have sent it at a better time – it came on a day when I was a bit frazzled and having a book like this was JUST what I needed. This author is a blogger and she’s super funny! I’ve read the first few chapters and am looking forward to more!
Love Does: Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World
By: Bob Goff
I’ve just finished this book and I’m leading an online study with a small group of friends. I absolutely love how easy this book was to read and how Bob relates everyday life to God’s love. It has challenged me to really show love every single day and to make a difference. Bob has some amazing real life stories too that add to the charm of this book!
Out of the Spin Cycle: Devotions to Lighten Your Mother Load
By: Jen Hatmaker
My mom bought this book for me several years ago at Christmas and it was the first time I had ever read anything by Jen Hatmaker. This light hearted devotional book captured my love for Jen and all of the things that I felt as a new mom and wife that doesn’t really have it together…ever! It includes 40 daily devotionals and I’m going back to re-read as I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed in the mother load category as of late.
The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? (Expanded Edition)
By: Rick Warren
This is the expanded edition of the bestselling book that Rick Warren released 10+ years ago. Our Sunday School class is currently reading this together. I love how he pulls in scripture to support finding our purpose in life and making a difference. It’s really not all about us. Amen?
What’s on your current reading list? I’m becoming quite the book worm lately and I’d love to know what books are capturing your attention! Comment below and #shareitsaturday away!
