It’s #thirstythursday – who’s up for getting thirsty on the WORD? Woop wooop!
You may remember that I started reading the One Year Bible plan on Jan 1. I’ve never read through the entire Bible and I have to say that I’m enjoying the readings WAYYY more than I thought I would!
There’s so many stories in the Bible that I’ve never been able to connect one to another. Especially in the Old Testament – I’m starting to see the big picture of how it all came to pass. And I’m finding things that I’ve missed my entire life.
Now really. Confession: I’ve been almost 20 days behind on the daily plan at one point!!! This week, I’ve been doubling up and I’m only 4 days out – YAY! Even if you fall behind, this plan is doable 🙂
I would highly recommend starting this free One Year Bible plan – you can start ANY day of the year!
Today’s reading took me to the 23rd Psalm. I’m reading the Bible plan in the New Living Translation (NLT). I have to say that some of these words JUMPED off the page at me like never before:
The LORD is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love
will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
(Psalms 23:1-6 NLT)
Yes. I HAVE ALL THAT I NEED!

Proverb of the Day:
Do you know the saying, “Drink from your own rain barrel, draw water from you own spring-fed well”? It’s true. Otherwise, you may one day come home and find your barrel empty and your well polluted. [Proverbs 5:15-16 MSG]
