You know that thing you’ve been wanting to tackle? That thing you said you’d start on January 1, 2015. Or maybe it’s that thing you’ve wanted to do for YEARS, but you’ve just never, well…STARTED.
Today. Is. The. Day.
For me, one of those things was writing. I knew I wanted to become a writer. And the writer fairy didn’t show up at my house while I slept to bless me with writer talent. Bummer.
I had to JUST DO IT!
Last August (August 15, 2014 to be exact), I got rid of the excuses. I sat in the passenger seat of my car before going on a date night dinner – And. I. Wrote.
And I haven’t missed a day of writing since.
That was 147 days ago.
Exactly 100 days ago today – I started this blog – The Daily Starr! Woohooo – Happy 100 Days!
This space keeps me accountable for writing every single day – that thing.
Am I perfect yet? Nope. Am I learning how to become a writer? Yep.
I’m showing up. And writing. One day at a time.
What’s that thing that you’ve been putting off?
Do something today to work towards your goal. Start now. Start small. Don’t worry that it’s January 8. Dates are just numbers. Any day is a good day to START! 🙂
I’m right here beside you. I’ll be your biggest fan and your loudest cheerleader! go go GO!!
One more thing before we go: I’ve tried for years to read the entire Bible. In a year. And I never have. #yesandimapreacherskidtoo
So, just a few days ago – I started this One Year Bible Plan on the Bible App:
I’m 5 days behind. But that is TOTALLY ok.
I love how this plan covers a little Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs each day. It’s like this: you’re totally into reading about Noah and what God was instructing him to do and then BAM! John the Baptist is baptizing Jesus. Ha!
If anything, you don’t get bored 🙂
So, if covering the Bible in a Year is one of those things on your list, join me! I’d love to have you along on the adventure.
The plan is free – either download the Bible App to your smartphone, or go to Bible.com
Now. Go do that thing.
Proverb of the Day:
Common sense and success belong to me. Insight and strength are mine. [Proverbs 8:14 NLT]
