#shareitsaturday / remembering “Glennie the Great”

#shareitsaturday:
Tonight I’m sharing and remembering the one and only “Glennie the Great”

One year ago tonight.

How does time pass so quickly? It doesn’t seem possible.

Yet, it some ways – it seems like forever.

I miss her smile. I miss her voice. I miss so many things.

I miss the advice that she gave from so much life experience.

I miss hearing about her childhood.

I miss hearing that everything’s gonna be OK and that the good Lord has it all handled.

She forever left a heritage for our family that will never be forgotten.

Glennie the Great – we remember you tonight.

We stood out in the open field by the big tree and looked up into the heavens above. We sent a light up to heaven in your honor. And Kayla said we should have written on it, “To Glennie the Great!” just so you would know it was for you!

You are missed dearly, Great. Til we meet again, look down on us and know that you are loved.

  1. When I got to the part about her saying “the good Lord has it handled’ I could hear her saying that. She was a wonderful lady!

  2. It was wonderful to help continue her legacy but having the honor of making her coconut pie today. Thank you for sharing her with us. She will always be remembered.

    1. Thank you, Karen – you did a fabulous job on the pie! Tasted just like grandma would make every single Thanksgiving and Christmas. AND she had to make a blueberry pie just for Brian, because she knew his great dislike of coconut 🙂
